2021 NMRC "OPEN" Tournament

Please Join Us:

Saturday Oct 30th, 2021 @ Upsala High School, in Upsala MN

The Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference will be hosting our first ever "OPEN" tournament  for FIRST teams that geographically fall under  the umbrella of FUM (FIRST in the Upper Midwest). This is an effort to help assist regional teams get "plays" who have had limited field time or competitions over the past 2 seasons due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We will be playing the FIRST Game: "Infinite Recharge" for this event. Registration fee to participate if selected will be $400 per team.
This event will have a fully functional field with an integrated FMS and automated scoring. The NMRC takes pride in providing high quality events with as close to a "Regional Event" atmosphere as possible.

Completing a registration application does not guarantee admittance into the event. We will be limiting the tournament to just 24 teams. Consideration will be given as well to team specific conditions such as geographic location, date of last event, attendance at other FUM related offseason events for Fall of 2021, etc.... The "Registration Application" window is scheduled to be open until at least August 15th. However the NMRC reserves the right to alter this application window, to close sooner or stay open longer, as we see fit in order to ensure the successful operation of this event. We encourage teams interested in attending to apply as soon as possible.

(Press Release)

Native American STEM Advancement Initiative

The NMRC is pleased to welcome Enbridge Energy as our  corporate partner for this initiative. Our goal is to increase access and opportunity for Native American students in STEM through their participation in robotics.

Through this partnership more than $28,000 will go to support NMRC teams and students with high percentages of Native American poplulations.

FIRST Robotics Competition

The NMRC is not an official arm of FIRST or MN-FIRST. However our mission, goals, and spirit are based on those of FIRST.

We consider ourselves a complimentary organization to FIRST. It has served as the foundation upon which we have built our organization. It is our intent to continue expanding upon and broadening FIRST related events, game play, and its mission here in Northern Minnesota.

Minnesota State High School League

The NMRC is proud to be the first robotics conference officially recognized by the Minnesota State High School League.

While the MSHSL does not have direct governance over MN-FIRST and the Regional events, they do sponsor and partner with FIRST to put on the Minnesota State Robotics Championship each year.
